ABOUT US
DMACSTEL is the telephone fundraising division of DMACS Ltd. Many small and medium-sized charities struggle to attract a flow of funds because they are hampered by lack of resources. A partnership with DMACSTEL provides a powerful new resource to charities to help them raise more funds. We now have a requirement for home based Tele-Fundraisers.
Telephone fundraising
What is it?
Charities use the telephone to fundraise in a number of ways.
They call supporters to ask them to increase the amount they give, or to give a further gift for a special appeal, to recruit fundraising volunteers or sell raffle tickets.
Many people (especially younger people) prefer to use the phone rather than the mail in their dealings with charities generally.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
At DMACSTEL our clients tend to be smaller charities who we help them to increase their funds. Unlike a lot of our competitors we do not ask for upfront set up fees or charge huge amounts for donor recruitment. We charge a modest fee and in many cases only get paid on results we deliver. This reduces the risk for the charity and allows telephone fundraising to be accessible to many small and medium sized charities for which it is not normally an option because of cost.
We prepare all campaign scripts in close consultation with the charity to ensure the objectives of the call are clear and we prepare responses for frequently asked questions and anticipate any objections or further information required by contacts. We can supply call lists and carry out follow up mailings were applicable.
DMACSTEL will produce reports that will allow for the monitoring of the campaign for the charity.
Typical reports we supply to charities include:
· Daily call report – a report of responses from previous days calling.
· Campaign call report – results of response rates to date.
· Exception report – Any issues that need the charity’s input.
Your key role as a Tele - Fundraiser
There are over 250,000 registered charities in the UK and Ireland. They range in size from £multi-million 1,000 + staff to ‘one man bands’. The largest charities can afford to invest in massive advertising campaigns, recruit the best trained staff and attract high profile personalities and influential corporate sponsors. However, the majority of the small to medium sized charities are really suffering, especially in these difficult financial times. They are usually set up and managed by enthusiastic and motivated people who are passionate about their cause, but often do not have the resources to undertake a successful telephone campaign.
They need help to organise their fundraising into one complete and integrated system with a proven method of attracting new donors and maintaining their existing supporters, which is what we do.
As a Tele – Fundraiser you will be there to help small to medium charities both survive and to grow their much needed income.
The work is interesting, stimulating, rewarding and deeply satisfying. You will truly be helping people in need and making a difference to their lives. You will be involved in a wide variety of activities, recruiting new donors, upgrading existing supporters, undertaking surveys, Raffle Ticket Conversions, Sponsorship Products, Gift Aid, Emergency Appeals, Legacy Calling, Payroll Givers and Major Donor Conversion.
We recommend making calls generally between 14:00 and 21:00. Although, this can be flexible and actual times may vary as we will work with you to fit in with your particular circumstances. As well as supplying you with a script, each agent will also have access to additional information about the organisation they are calling for.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know who to call?
We will supply you with a call list. You will need a computer as you access the list via the internet. This is in a spreadsheet form and after each call you will record the response. This will allow us to make any follow up mailings and produce reports for the charity.
When do I call?
We recommend making calls generally Monday to Friday between 14:00 and 21:00. This is because from experience this is when you are most likely to make contact with a person. We want you to maximise your earnings and not just waste your time making calls and getting no responses. However the actual times you call we will leave this up to you. Remember though that the list has cost the charity money and it is our duty to maximise its potential.
How do I get paid?
You are paid a fee agreed with you in advance for a particular campaign.
Who pays for the phone call?
You are responsible for your phone bill. We recommend that you contact your Telecom provider and ask for a call anytime package for landlines.
